Unique Custom Ford Mustang Monument ‘THE REAL THING’ By Bodie Stroud In Short Documentary…MUST SEE!!!

But most impressive is the car’s engine under the hood. The V8 is created for Can Am by Mario Andretti (there are only ten units), and offers no less than 777 horses on rear tires…that make it seem a dragster by its width. Under the familiar shape of the Mustang is hiding a technique with which the original car has almost nothing in common. The new frame is also redress and the main star here is the engine. It is one of the ten Ford 494 aluminum fork cylinder engines. These engines with a capacity of 8.1 liters were originally intended for the Can-Am racing series.

In the sixties and seventies, one of them in his Holman & Moody McLaren M6B used also Mario Andretti, who with this engine never got any better than the third place.

Now this infernal machine with an output of 777 hp (572 kW) went under the hood of the peacefully built Mustang, the construction of which was filmed with a short and punchy documentary. In addition to the builder in it appears also Mario Andretti, who recognized the eight cylinder 8 liter engine and signed on it. Probably the car is good only for straight running (since its tires are so wide and it is difficult to put them back together thinking about cornering and agility), but the documentary awaiting on “the other side” is worth it.
