1999-2007 Ford Super Duty

The Ford Super Duty released in 1999 brought a revolution of the heavy-duty truck market. Before the arrival of this big, bad pickup truck, car manufacturers largely upgraded their light-duty pickup trucks in order to handle heavy-duty work. The Super Duty from 1999 was a separate model line which had its own genuine style and hardware underneath. That way, the light duty Ford F-150 could be engineered for lighter tasks while the Super Duty model was capable of handling the work crowd and the hardcore recreational towers too.

The choice of engines offered was new 6.8L petrol V10, a 5.4L V8, or a 7.3L turbodiesel engine with an amazing 500 lb-ft of torque. The list of options also included manually telescoping side mirrors, which customers could slide out when they needed them for towing. The company also built the Super Duty package for the F-450 and F-550 cab-chassis models for the even higher gross vehicle weight rating market, where it dominates today.
