The rumors that Ford would unveil the 2015 Edge at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show were partly true as this brand unveiled a concept version of the vehicle. The production version is due for the upcoming months.
As Ford put it, the 2015 Edge features “strong hints at the technology, dynamic design and premium craftsmanship that will define the company’s next global utility vehicles.”
The new design language and an updated interior characterize this Ford model car. It is equipped with high-quality, automated driving technologies; most prominent being self-parking and obstacle avoidance systems. They feature “a future of semi- and fully autonomous driving options, delivering tomorrow’s technology today.”
The new Edge Concept design language is more of an athletic nature. Its D-pillar is more prominent, shoulders are strong. There is a three-bar grille wired ti a brand new LED headlamps.
In order to accomplish more fuel efficiency, the grille has an Active Grille Shutters installed which open and close automatically. Thus, a harmonized engine operating temperature is obtained and the aerodynamic efficiency is maximized.
А Copper Flame paint in combination with chrome elements on the turn signals, taillights and headlights make the Edge real smoking!
Interior-wise, premium black Nubuck covers the instrument panel, door elements and center console. The black features some copper accents on the instrument panel and carpet.
In addition, there are premium elements such as a hand-stitched and leather-wrapped instrument panel, dynamic center stack with premium mechanical switchgear, 10-inch touchscreen center display with MyFord Touch, door-release bezel, bright work on the armrest, air registers, floating binnacle top, matte black paint, scuff plates with bright silver finish, and LED-lit “Edge.”
