Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary was celebrated in Sant’Agata Bolognese: a thousand invitees witnessed the entrance of Walter De Silva’s stunning vehicle. The Head of Design for the Volkswagen Group excitingly told: “I am very attached to this Italian brand, being an Italian myself. I wanted to pay homage to and think up a vehicle to underline the fact that Lamborghinis have always been made with passion, and with the heart more than the head.”
Lamborghini Egoista Concept is powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine delivering 600 horsepower. The team at the Volkswagen Group design took good care of this vehicle. Alessandro Dambrosio was responsible for the exterior, while Stefan Sielaff for the interior. De Silva decided to go for a single-seater. The cockpit is not a fixed section. It can be ejected in emergency cases.
There are two major things important for the exterior: the materials used and its architecture. The design is greatly muscular and aggressive structure. The cockpit is wrapped in carbon-fibre. There is a four-point seatbelt racing seat with. Each strip has a different color.
To Walter De Silva’s opinion, all the product criteria resemble Lamborghini’s make-up. “It’s as if Ferruccio Lamborghini were saying: I’m going to put the engine in the back, I don’t want a passenger. I want it for myself, and I want it as I imagine it to be. It is a fanatical vehicle, Egoista fits it well.”
