CAN YOU DO THIS? Lamborghini Huracan In A Snow Drifting Adventure In Nagano, Japan!

A Lamborghini is something that you don’t see every day, especially not on a frozen lake, drifting. If you say that you would like to drive your brand new Lamborghini Huracan on a freeway or even better, on some track everyone would probably say go for it, but if you said that your favorite place to drive it is on a frozen lake in the middle of nowhere, without special winter tires people would probably say that you’re crazy or too rich that you don’t know how to spend your money or time so you do foolish things. That assumption however, is irrelevant.

Today we are in Nagano, Japan, where in 1998 the Winter Olympics were staged, and I can see why. It’s a beautiful place where you can free your mind and soul. But today we aren’t here to relax, today we are here to experience and try to learn a few things about how to drive and drift a half a million dollar Lamborghini on an ice snowy lake. First of all you have to sit in the passenger seat and see how the instructor does it, as he gives you a few pointers and some tips. To be honest at first, it looked really easy, but once you sit in that driver’s seat and try to steer that wheel, it’s a different story and you will have a different perspective on things.

The tips that the instructor gave me were not much of a help to me because first of all you have to feel the car and the ice, and just let the Lambo slide through the lake by only making minor turns with the wheel. At some point it felt like I was sitting in the passenger seat and the car was driving by herself. But after some time with the help of your instructor in the car and your lead instructor, you soon get the hang of it. Learning to drift a car its easy when somebody skilled does it, but no matter how experienced the driver is, things could go all kinds of wrong in a blink of a second. Although the lake looks snow covered, in places the ice is as slippery as a skating ring, so you can imagine that there is no friction on the tires at all, and as you know it’s very hard to turn on a zero friction surface. And the four hundred horsepower didn’t help much because this isn’t a track that you could see the true potential of that engine, but on the other hand, this cold, snowy and icy weather is a great place to test the limits of the Lambo in different ways.

For example, you can see right away why this car is so expensive. I can’t imagine any other car trying and doing the same things this one showed us today. The way that it carried itself through the snow was remarkable. Things that other cars wouldn’t even come close to accomplish.. Even though this car wasn’t made for this kind of snowy weather and icy surfaces, but I can truly say that it showed itself to be a true winner and that it can adapt and perform in any kind of situation. Yes, there were a few things that weren’t that perfect, like losing the steering of the wheel and feeling like you’re not driving the car, as I mentioned it before.

But overall this was a great day and we had a rare experience to try driving and drifting a super car such as Lamborghini Huracan on the most unusual place we could ever think of. And I just have to mention it again, the horse power that this beast of a car had was remarkable even though we didn’t have the chance of testing it out, if we did try it on the road I think that we would have needed a parachute to bring it to a stop.
