The company Audi confirms the leading role in the development of technology for car lights. The new Audi Matrix LED technology represents a real revolution in this field and had its debut in the Audi A8, whose market launch took place at the end of 2013.
In technology Audi Matrix LED, beam headlamps are divided into many small individual diodes that work in combination with lenses and reflectors. Guided by the control system, they are activated or deactivated, and reduce their intensity, depending on the individual situation. This means that they always provide lighting with high precision and achieve a maximum effect without targeting mechanism. The currentĀ Audi A8, each of the headlamps comprises 25 LEDs arranged in groups of five on the reflector. The automatic mode is activated at speeds above 30 km / h on the open road and over 60 km / h in urban traffic conditions.
Audi Matrix LED generates light with high quality and crystal shine. The moment the camera will determine the presence of a vehicle coming from the opposite direction, the headlights dim or decrease their intensity. The system works with such precision and thus eliminates the glare which would blind you. The more approaching the vehicle, the more the LED elements are deactivated or darken. When vehicles are no longer present, completely unlimited lighting is restored, including sections that were deactivated. The light is more homogeneous and more effective than that of competing systems with mechanical eclipses.
Matrix LED technology has excellent potential in many different aspects. One of them is within the field of driving safety. When the present system detects a person in the critical zone in frontof the car, individual LED elements are activated and the beam warn him, while the driver gets light and audible signal.
