The newest video from YouTube user The Aficionauto is an excellent palate cleanser for fans of the iconic TV show – Knight Rider after learning that Justin Bieber will borrow his “awesome” voice for KITT in the upcoming Knight Rider movie. I cannot clearly understand David Hasselhoff’s decision about the new voice of KITT, but one thing is for sure KITT is one of the most wanted vehicles to appear on the TV series and for a very good reason too – the 1986 Pontiac Trans-Am of Michael Knight is one of the most famous cars that ever appeared on television.
Although the video wasn’t able to show one of the original KITT models from the TV show, it invited the head star – the Knight Rider himself, aka David Hasselhoff who was driving his own KITT replica and talking about the legacy that this show left behind.
The 1980s TV showmade the 1986 Pontiac Firebird into an iconic crime-fighting supercar. Among the cool features of this car was the fact that it was equipped with weapons, futuristic crime-fighting gadgets and was able to drive by itself.
And now it’s time for a time travel back in the good old days to take another ride with the Knight Rider 🙂
when I was a kid my favorite show was the Dukes of Hazzard same love you have for Kitt I have the same love for my generallyLee 01like you too I told my dad I want that car when I get older now that I’m 41 years old still want that car 68 charger that’s my love Kitt is coolI used to watch Knight Rider Too on channel 4
i wish i had one of those cars it is so cool
I have one and I LOVE him to pieces and I have built him from nothing. But now that I have had back surgery I can’t work on him as I once could. But I wanted to do what she did and meat him and have him autograph my car, but I guess this will never happen. But I love my car, I will never let hi, go, even though many want me to get rid of him, I will not!! They don’t understand the attachment we have and I have spent many days with him just sitting with him and talking with him. I have dubbed him my escape pod. When life gets bad I just sit with him, he listens to me and I feel better. I love you KITT and maybe someday you and David can be together one more time.
used to watch this program without fail, as a 46 yr old Englishman who is a stay at home dad caring for his 2yr old daughter and disabled beauty of a wife remember this car well could one more dream come true?
It certainly brings back some sweet old memories 🙂
It’s not a 1986 Trans Am, it’s a 1982. The show debuted in the fall of 1981 & the car was a 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. Those style seats with the “open” headrests were 1982 only
You’re right indeed Douglas. We used the info provided with the video. I wonder why the author of the video used a ’86, a not a ’82 model. Nevertheless, it’s a cool car 🙂
