Can you believe this, a 2015 GMC powered by Duramax LML is beating a 2013 Ford Mustang 5.0 in an illegal street race? We know that the Duramax LML is powerful but somehow got stuck on the same performance numbers from the year when it was released, 2011.
You all know that the LML is 6.6-liter V8 with 397HP and 765lb-ft of torque but can it stands against the Mustang’s 5.0-liter V8 which is pumping 420HP and 390lb-ft of torque! Does the torque really matter in in a race? You need the torque to get out of the hole and kick start the race while the horse power to charge and give the final boost to win the race.
It seems like the torque matters in a race but that’s not all here, we have more doubts because the 2013 Mustang has minor bolt-ons and the guy invested more than $4K in the suspension. On the other hand we have a huge difference in “lifting power”, almost double the Mustang, 765lb-ft of torque.
Maybe the whole race between 2015 GMC Duramax LML and the 2013 Mustang 5.0 is suspicious because we cannot really see the vehicles racing, but just the GMC dashboard and how it speeds up from 0 to 85mph. If the owners of the 2015 GMC provide a better recorded video than we can clean all the doubts. We don’t have bad opinion for the Duramax power but we cannot see it actually winning the race.
We suggest to watch the video and tell us what do you think about this illegal street race. By the way if you own one 2015 GMC Duramax LML for sure you can disturb the neighborhood with some burnouts and doughnuts drifts. Enjoy the video and don’t forget to help us clear our doubts for this particular race.
