The US NAVY likes to brag about the fastest ship that it has in the dock and they have all the rights to do so. This is one great looking fast driving and gliding ship that has to be shown to the public. It is called the Boeing Pegasus Class Hydrofoil Tucumcari PGH-2, rather odd name for a ship but it is there and we kind of have to like it. We like more the design and the abilities of this ship and the speed that it goes is just fascinating.
This ship was actually made back in 1966 to serve in the war with Vietnam and since then it still remains one of the fastest ships that the US NAVY possess. When you see the dashboard of this ship you will get amazed. It has more gadgets and buttons from the MIG plane and handling one of these is a tough job to do. But pleasure comes with the tough job as you will be gliding on the surface of the water with this ship which was the fastest ship in the NAVY and still is one of the fastest in its class.
The platform that is on the top of the ship must be reliable and large, versatile too. Many things were required in the war against Vietnam and this ship is supporting all the standards that were a MUST back then. This is supposed to be the ship with wings because it remains at same water level on the waves and on steady sea. That is remarkable and that is what a Hydrofoil ship should do.
Now there is not much resistance from the water and that’s why this ship is one of the fastest on the sea, able to go on the heavy sea too with many men on board.
