The private beach Marietta on the Marieta islands is situated 30 km from the city of Puerto Vallarta. The beach is located just inside the rocks on one of the islands of the Marieta archipelago. One of the most beautiful beaches in the world was made accidentally during military exercise on the Marieta Islands, by the Mexican government in the early 20th century.

In one occasion they tested bombs on these islands, so a crater was formed on the island among dense forest, and in time the crater became the dream beach which Mexicans call it “The Beach of Love.” In time, a beach was formed on the Marieta Islands that can be reached only through water tunnels. On the eve of the First World War, the Mexican government used the islands as a proving ground for testing various bombs. This beach has occurred as a result of that, but of other factors as well such as weather conditions and erosion of rocks – explains Osorio.
