Which engine configuration are you a fan of? Maybe the V8 engine is the best suitable choice for you, or maybe the inline 6 which has been proven to be the performance engine that stayed alive all these years and still deliver ultimate performance on the track? There are a lot of engine layouts and configurations and this video is all about that, explaining all of them and try to understand the difference between them too.
The first letter of the engine tag is going to represent the layout of the engine. So next time when you check the engine and see the I6 tag on it you will know that the “I” stands for the Inline engine configuration. You are going to have an engine that has six cylinders which are in one line working on the same crankshaft. With the I4 it is the same deal only the engine has 4 instead of the 6 seen on the I6. But what about the Flat4 sign? What is this all about? Or the W12 engine used on the Bugatti cars? These are the new engine configuration layouts that are worth talking about.
The W12 engine has the “W” shape and it has 12 cylinders. Same like the V style the pistons are on the both sides of it but double that. That’s why these “W” engines are now one of the most powerful and they are going to have a bright future if Bugatti continues to use them. There is even a W16 used on the Bugatti Veyron that is the MAX when it comes to the W engines.
But what about the advantages that you are going to get with the different engine configuration and which one will do the best? You need to think about the purpose of the vehicle before you buy it but it is good to know even before buying too.
