Too cool to be true, but building the turbojet engine out of the junkyard seems a fun job after all. There is not a lot of work to be put on it, especially if you are well familiar with the welding machine and with the grinder too. These are the two main tools that are going to be used here, along with the parts that we are going to be picking up from the junkyard. A trip there means that you are going to take a lot more stuff that you actually need, but it is good to collect, all of these parts are going to be used in some other project too.
As the host Colin Furze says, we are going to make this build really simple, working and cheap too. That’s why we need to stick to the shopping list that he has prepared for us and there is the turbocharger to start off first. It is going to be the main part of the building the turbojet engine project. It is going to make the good airplane sound and also make the engine more powerful too.
We are going to need some tubing as well for the deed, the stainless ones are going to be the best choice, as they are rust free and easy to work with. Also they will make the whole rig look much better at the end. Removing the rust from the parts is essential because it is hard to work with rusted parts.
As we have said before, the welding skills must be at higher level because some precision welding will be required for the build of the turbojet engine. The pipes need to be secured firmly to the turbocharger with no leakage at all for the maximum results that we are aiming for.
