No professional company is going to take offense at a customer asking to see their proof of insurance. You will want to know the exact amount of coverage, what is covered specifically and make sure the car will be covered in all situations including delivery to the port, shipment and delivery and even storage if that is applicable.

When it comes to insurance coverage, especially when shipping abroad, there is no such things as too much coverage. Check with your private insurance company to see if your regular auto insurance policy will also be able to cover the car as it is shipped overseas. If you are shipping in a container and will be shipping household or personal items inside the car, you will also want to speak to your home insurance company to make sure your personal and household items will also be covered when shipping abroad.
