“A friend’s older brother wanted it, and I ended up giving him the car, as I had no plans to restore it any time soon’, says Dale.
After many years, in 2007 Dale got an opportunity to have his one time faithful companion back in his life. He received a call from a buddy of his, who told him that his big brother had his old Challenger. During all of those years car was completely left over and never restored. The good thing was that those many years of storage did not cause any further deterioration, both on the inside as well as on the outside of the car. Taken from the words of Dale himself, more or less, the vehicle looked the same as when he left it 25 years earlier. Never being driven, the Challenger had been sitting with a tarpaulin all over it the whole past years. Thanks to it, many parts of the car were pretty well preserved, like the Rallye dash that looked almost as if it was brand new. And the best part was that he got it for the exact same amount of dollars as when he sold it – $ 1 500.
When he got home, Dale Cole made a decision to restore his big love from back in the days. But this showed as not such an easy thing to do. Certain problems with the documentation about what went on it at the Hamtramck Assembly had come up.
