There are dirt bikes on this race that are carrying engines with more than 160 HP. That is too much for a dirt bike but the support bars are made strong on the frame and they will hold the engine in place.

The drivers that are racing on the hill climb with the dirt bikes must be very strong too. It is not an easy job to tackle the rocks on the hill every day and the steering is so hard while driving on rocky terrain at that speed.

Apart from the hard steering of the dirt bike the driver needs to be aware of the time. The time has been measured by the officials in the race and the best time together with the longest distance driven will give the winner of the race.

Going uphill is much harder than going downhill with the dirt bikes because there is a danger of flipping the bike over and even injuring the rider. That’s why the protective measures are always taken, the helmet is on the head and the bike gear on the body of the driver.
