The Sick Seconds Chevy Camaro was built on a full-tube chassis, which already could set it apart from the usual street car, however Tom quickly points out that every fast car seen in the Unlimited class at Drag Week is driving on more or less the same underpinnings. What sets Tom’s Camaro apart from other cars is what flexes its chassis. Under the hood of the 1969 Chevy Camaro is installed a twin-turbo 615ci Brodix big-block Chevy engine. The large Chevy big-block comes with a 4.600” bore while the Callies crankshaft enables a 4.625” stroke which moves the 8 Diamond pistons through the Chevy engine, powering the Sick Seconds Camaro. It was built by Steve Morris, who points out that it took about 6 months longer than what Tom wanted. Yet, it was definitely worth waiting as this baby is capable of producing an outstanding and mind-blowing engine power of 3,350 hp!
However, bear in mind that there is much more in Tom and Steve’s accomplishment, than just making an amazing car such as this beautiful Camaro.
