A budget friendly truck, classified in the medium duty trucks, the 2015 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins will blow your mind with its amazing performance. It’s a real life performance and where its numbers are put on long uphill towing test!
The truck is loaded and towing a total of 12,250lbs cargo and tree adult persons inside, technically that’s the Fast Lane Truck crew. Now you know that this is a realistic test because these guys always were transparent and honest and never took a side or favorited some brand. Honestly we believe in them and we count this as a realistic test.
The 6.7-liter I6 Cummins punch under the hood is delivering 370HP and 800lb-ft of torque on 4×2 with RamBox drive train. Usually these kind of tests are performed on 4×4 trucks but it seems like the 2015 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins accepted the challenge and as the Fast Lane Truck crew says, “The Cummins is moving this thing and it’s not about the uphill speed”! Also there is an air suspension on the rear axle which lowers the truck when it is loaded for about one inch in order to be achieved better aerodynamics which will result in improved fuel consumption.
If you want to find out how the 2015 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins is comparing to the GMC Duramax when towing the same trailer on Ike Gauntlet extreme uphill in Colorado watch the whole video above and hear the final words from the test guys!
It’s Cummins and it always responded to the challenges. So, don’t expect something less this time too because its rivals, the Powerstroke and the Duramax are waiting impatiently to find its Achilles’ heel!
Just a quick note, the above mentioned uphill road is the steepest I-70 highway in US, the Ike Gauntlet from 9,000ft above sea level! Now, you can enjoy the video below.
