ENGINEERING EXPLAINED IS JUST AWESOME: Find Out Which Are The 5 ‘Modifications’ That Will Ruin Your Car’s Performance!!!

2. Stretched Tires

There are two ways how to get the stretched look of your tires. The first one means to put narrower tires on the stock wheels of your car. The result of this would be less contact patch than stock, and thus will have a negative effect on the handling.

The second way is to place tires with stock size (or bigger) on wheels that are even wider. You could maintain a similar contact patch, but since with this you have increased the weight of the wheels, now the rotational inertia (which drains power) and unsprung weight (which reduces the effectiveness of the suspension) have been increased. Either way you use, your tires are more likely to run onto the sidewalls during hard cornering.

The right solution is not to run more negative camber, but to use the proper size of the wheel and tire.
