Meet The 9 FINEST NISSAN SKYLINE GT-R MODIFICATIONS Ever Made (Part 1)

The Nissan Skyline – BNR 34 is actually a basic incarnation of a real street racer and the major factor in the process of tuning its engine is the efficiency, allegiance and comfort. Having such a big turbochargers means that it needs a lot of maintenance and as the power output is on a higher level, the bigger are the chances of having problems with the thermodynamics. So in order to keep things as calm as possible, the factory turbochargers were kept in tact and the accent was put on the small, vital surrounding components like the Tomei valvesprings, NISMO motor mounts and 1.2 mm head gasket. Main target of the manufacturers was 500 “streetable” HP, more than enough for a GT – R car with an all wheel drive that wants to lay its power to the ground without becoming squiggly like an FR configured vehicle. In addition of this, turbochargers need to pump more air into the engine (then what it says on the stock specification) and it must have proper fuel compensation to avoid detonation. So the Sun Line is using a Tomei high volume fuel pump, NISMO fuel pressure regulator, and Sard 700 cc injectors. Cooling and oil temperatures are being handled with the HKS Type R intercooler, together with the Trust oil cooler and a custom radiator.
