When Wen Lai started to search for a car a few years ago, that would become his dream coming true sports car, he was aware that GT -- R would live in his garage. He knew very well the potential of the GT -- R and its RB 26 DETT twin turbo engine. He use to be a manager for A’PEXi, a company thet in the late 90’s was building and campaigning a 1 100 HP drag car known as the V -- MAX GTR that had a rear wheel drive and it was a real monster of a vehicle. Driver was Eiji “Tarzan” Yamada who broke a number of records at the quarter mile distance at Palmdale, Calif., circa 1999. The car had in-house designed and fabricated A’PEXi parts and it has become a text book for the A’PEXi employees for the full power and strength that Nissan’s “R” badge has become.
