Driving a car with the V12 engine under the hood means that you have done your thing in life and now you stand higher in the society. All this because these engines are spenders, they got low MPG but the best thing about them is that they make the car FAST. Better acceleration with higher RPMs coming from the engine means that you are going to enjoy that long ride ahead of you with the best engine. So why these are engines so popular and why are they widely used in the off-road vehicles as well?
The V12 engine is one of the smoothest running engine out there and there is no owner that has been complaining of it. It has the best ignition timing and it doesn’t need high gas level to run idle. Also when it comes to the acceleration it is the beast in the competition, you have 12 cylinders working for you and twin turbo system to back that up. Pushing the PSI is not hard as there are a LOT of fumes exiting the exhaust pipe and those turbines are running wild on the engine.
Every 60 degrees of the crankshaft rotation you are getting fire in the cylinders of the V12 engine. This means that at all times you are going to have detonation which is going to place out power to the common crankshaft.
Ferrari has been using this V12 engine for a long time now with new adjustments on the new exotic cars of course. They are using this engine configuration because it has the smoothest power delivery of them all because of the firing order and process. The numbering is done clever by Ferrari and the engine has two detonation per time, so always two cylinders are going to deliver power to the crankshaft for better and smoother ride.
