Before even watching this video with the 1971 Dodge Charger R/T with the HEMI engine under the hood check if you got some snacks around the house because you are going to need them. Everything’s better when you watch with snacks and this Charger gets even better with one peanut. It is so because it has been built so sleek that it doesn’t need a description at all. Kevin Oeste is the host of the video and he is about to tell us all about the Dodge Charger R/T that has come to his hands and camera too.
Having the 426 HEMI engine under the hood this 1971 Dodge Charger R/T looks like it is having its best days now, not in the 1970s. Just by being observant you can notice that this is a really clean restoration of the car. There is the black stripe on the hood with the R/T sticker on it telling us that it is equipped with that advanced package that was offered by Dodge when they were selling these. Four speed transmission box is the accent of the ride with the unique gear shifter next to the steering wheel.
The Dana 60 at the rear end as well, it seems like this car is the one that you have been waiting for. But what we cannot notice about this car is that this is the PILOT car for the 1971 Dodge Charger program. It is not written anywhere on it. This car was used to figure out the details that were needed in order to start the production of the car. And because being a pilot car it has some details on it that cannot be found on the cars that hit the market. This is a great honor to have the pilot of the Charger, watch away.
