1955 Chevy C1 Corvette

The ‘53 model was not only the first production year of the Corvette but it was the 1955 model that introduced the small-block V8 engine capable to deliver output of 195 hp. At first the 1955 Corvettes with their V8 engine continued with the mandatory-option -- a Powerglide automatic transmission, however later in that year for the V8 models only was introduced a new three-speed manual transmission. Color choices for the body were expanded to at least five options, nicely combined with at least four colors for the interior. Even the samples with soft rooftop were made in three colors and different materials. Despite of these great figures, only 700 samples of the model were made which makes the ’55 C1 Corvette one of the rarest models one could ever find.
