Dirt bike hill climb is one of the most dangerous moto disciplines on the planet. In order to take a part of an event like this you need to have skills and nuclear powered dirt bike, these are the first two conditions you need to fulfill. Third, you need unbeatable desire for off-road adrenaline and the fourth and the last is your willingness to apply if you own the previously mentioned characteristics!
The dirt bikes for hill climbing need to be explosive and aggressive, something like the new 2016 Honda CRF450R. 269lbs overall weight, 450cc displacement with single cylinder 4-stroke. The transmission is wide-ratio five gears. When we sum this all up we get the needed aggressiveness and desire for the dirt bike to perform hill climbing.
What is really important on the dirt bikes is the suspension and how are they receiving the damps. For example the 2016 Honda CRF450R has 16 position compression-damping front and 17 position rebound damping rear adjustability. You cannot even imagine what could happen if the suspension is appropriate for hill climbing!
So, if you own a dirt bike with all calibers and you have the needed skills you can go for the adrenaline like our biker on the video, the red one. But you should remember that some hill climbing competitions are too dangerous no matter how powerful or how improved suspension it has. After the final jump all you have is a rope which you need to catch in the air and leave the dirt bike to fall down. One second too slow or one second too early and you will miss it and many things can go wrong there as you will see on the video bellow. We love the off-road adrenaline but this is way too much even for us because your life is literally hanging in the air!
