1988 Callaway Twin Turbo Corvette – A Rare But WELL AIMED MODEL! Check It Out!!!

The first car was manufactured in 1986 and from 1987 has already started the mass production. In total, there were 500 such machines that left the conveyor.

But even these characteristics were not enough for absolute leadership on the track. So Callaway commissioned by General Motors developed the “naked” version of the Corvette Top Gun without any elements of comfort to reduce the weight.

Its maximum speed reached 372 km/h, but for everyday driving the car was not suitable. And so the worldrenowned tuner decided to create a Corvette, the combination of which featured comfortable delights such as air conditioning, multimedia system, decorated elements of the interior, with powerful performance characteristics. His decision has grown into a project called the Sledgehammer. The goal was set – 250 miles/h.

Naturally, to achieve it, the boost of the engine alone was not enough. And also the aerodynamic performance required to be improved. On the development of  the “new appearance” of the Corvette worked the young designer Paul Deutschman, who had successfully participated in various tuning projects, in particular, he has created a very interesting body for Porsche Spexter. Deutschman radically changed the front part of the car, placed under the bumper intercoolers and “cut” the sidewall to improve its aerodynamics.
