The race between the 2006 Pontiac GTO versus a Ford Powerstroke truck is a race that cannot be often seen, in fact this is the first one that we run into. Great race and great driving from both drivers but only one is going to win, and it did not come as a surprise that the Pontiac GTO won over the Powerstroke with two seconds lead. But it is not a competition here that a truck races a race car like the 2006 Pontiac GTO, the truck is heavier and if it had more power it could not win the race again.

The drag strip is like made for this Pontiac as it flies on the drag strip. Even before the race starts we can see the GTO making a burnout to get the tires to the correct temperature but the truck driver never even bothered to do this step, he just parked the truck at the start line and waited for the green line.

Maybe he is not a burnout guy but it is like an unwritten rule that you do a burnout before a drag race so that the tires will have good grip on the asphalt. The Pontiac driver knew what he is doing and he knew that he will take down the 2004 6.0 Powerstroke driver. Maybe this was a race just for fun that’s why the truck driver never bothered or got nervous about.

However this is a great race and it is amazing to see that the reborn 2006 Pontiac GTO is still powerful as hell and it still is winning races on the drag strip. This car is not going anywhere as it is the great muscle car for drag racing and it is winning, against a Powerstroke and against other drag race cars that came to the event.
