The Tatra 813 8×8 truck is one of the few trucks born in the sixties, used in a large number of variants, manufactured by the company Tatra from the then Czechoslovakia. This vehicle is highly mobile, with a walk for a team of artillery, a sub-NBC-protected equipment and the ability to be used as an artillery tractor.
Heavy truck, from 7900 kg of useful load, due to its mobility, it is also used for weapons, such as the rocket launcher RM-70 and the self-propelled DANA 152 mm. In both cases the vehicle is armored.
There are, however, models which have been used in the civil field, particularly those intended for heavy duty or driving through harsh environments. Even in the case of competitions aimed at this type of off-road vehicles the Tatra 813 truck has been able to assert itself as a worthy opponent.
On this video we have an RC 1/10 scale model of the Tatra 813 truck doing its first test drive. This small baby may not be the real Tatra from the 1960s but it’s sure tough like its “gigantic” forefather.
