Amazing, antique engine, fired up after 30 years of long dream, imagine those 30 years and now it sings like a baby! And when you will hear the sound you will find out what is the feeling when the old steel engine will breathe the fire again, it’s priceless. We think that this is an epic moment.
Just imagine that huge engine standing in front of you, 33,000 lbs in weight and has 10,000 cubic inches displacement with six cylinder diesel engine with 27.3-liter displacement per cylinder which was capable to produce 600 hp @600 rpm but strengthened with turbocharger the power is going up to 900hp.
During World War II it was one of the most famous engines which was powering the ships and since then it has been honored many times, but it’s been a while since this engine hasn’t touched water. Our Enterprise DSG-36 engine on the video by the first look hasn’t been mounted on a ship, it’s more like it was on heavy-duty as a generator and served his post successfully for years.
No matter how it was, we are really glad that this engine still exists and running, and believe us, this engine sound is irreplaceable, 6 huge cylinders are playing in symphony! Watch the video bellow and witness the epic first fire up after 30 years resting of the Enterprise DSG-36 Diesel Engine.
The math is a little off there. 10,000ci is 164l or 27.3l per cylinder.
Right indeed Pete. Thanks for the notice, we fixed the error.
