CATCH ME IF YOU CAN! BMW M5 E39 Tries To Keep Up With The GTR! Nice Try Pal!
BMW’s reputation as a firm and reliable semi-sports car is pretty decent, especially in its native Europe. It is fairly fast, highly endurable German car (that goes for all German cars, as you know), that manages to maintain high prices in the world car market. But when it comes to the speed and the performance abilities on an open road, who in his right mind would try to compare it with the legendary Nissan GTR, and even more, try to race it? My answer would be, no real sports car connoisseur. But obviously the owner and driver of this BMW M5 E39 do not share my opinion, or just has very optimistic character, and tries to race it (‘keep up’ is actually a much better word) on the highway.
While driving like this is exciting there is danger involved. A car accident can cause financial problems as well. A Los Angeles personal injury lawyer can assist after a serious accident and help you get the money you’ll need for your hospital bills.
This following 2015 will be a 30th anniversary of the BMW M5 series. It is powered by a 4.9 liter 302ci V8 engine that gives an output to 395 HP, mated to a Getrag 420G transmission, and it can hit from 0 to 62 in 4.9 seconds, and its original price was about $90 000!
On the other hand, we have the well known Nissan GT-R R35, with its 3.6 liter V6 engine, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, that has an acceleration from 0 to 62 in less than 3 seconds.
I think that I really do not have to tell you about all of its other great features and unbeatable numbers (that you probably know well), it is not one of the most desirable sports cars in the world, without a good reason, I would add.
When did the R35 get a 6 speed manual? The R35 is totally autonomous any amateur can drive it quickly. It has never and will never come with a manual transmission which is why its a turn off to real drivers. Real mean drive stick and stick to analog cars. You should be surprised that a new generation GTR is faster than a 15 year old M5. I’ll take the M5 and row my own gears any day.
The R35 does have 6-speed automatic transmission Blade. There was a small typo in the article. Now it’s fixed. Thanks for the notice, we appreciate it.
