Bumblebee from Transformers has a worthy cousin. He may not transform into a huge alien robot, or is able to defend planet Earth from the Decepticons, but he is for sure one cool ride. Check out this awesome classic 1967 Camaro RS SS with unique headlight covers, also known as hidden headlights. The cool thing about these covers is how they slide in and out to cover the lights as the driver shuts them off or turns them on.
Hidden headlamps, also known as retractable headlights are headlights that are not visible or are housed in corresponding recesses when the lights are not in use. According to their way of hiding and showing they are divided into three types:
– By turning the transverse axis the headlights assembled in niches on the hood or fender (Mazda 323F)
– By turning the transverse axis the headlights retract back into the recesses of the hood or the fenders, staying visible and pointing upwards (Lamborghini Miura)
– the headlights themselves are immobile and concealed by removable covers (1969 Dodge Charger)
This technology is just another example of how ordinary and seemingly small details can enhance the beauty of the whole picture. Impressive work! 🙂
