Today we will talk a little bit about the technique of Water Transfer Printing or Hydro Dipping. What is it? What can you paint? And all you need to know about this new technology, which is the newest fashion of the automotive world for customizing your car.
The Water Transfer Printing, or Hydro Dipping is a painting process where a film is placed on the water, then an activator is passed across the surface of the PVA film and film in the desired object is dipped into the film, the final result is the fixation of the object’s content.
With this technique you can decorate numerous products such as motorcycle parts, car wheels, aircraft interiors, various armaments, military and naval equipment, helmets, mirrors, residential fixtures, industry and decoration parts, etc. There are varieties of numerous designs such as kevlar models, carbon, marble, granite, metal, wood, camouflage and abstract designs.
We must admit Hydrographics is quite amazing!
In the video below you can see how various rims are being printed with beautiful and even funny designs (such as SpongeBob SquarePants). This is definitely something that you will want to try today!

Yeah me too. That would be very cool to see 🙂
I bought a used car and the wheels have some curb damage, my question is how will this damaged area affect the dipping process???
It would be best to consult a company that does this process. They would answer all your questions. Here’s one – http://www.uniquehydrographics.com/pricing.html
