There are two doors on this Surf Seeker, one is in the front of the van and other one is on the right side of it. The front entrance is simply a definition of cool. The whole front of the car opens side way, allowing entrance to comfortable seats fitting three people. The steering wheel, the pedals and the gear shifter on this van, can be seen coming out of the floor, which same as the front entrance simply gives it a cool, unusual look. There are exactly 26 windows on this Surf Seeker, four out back, two in front, six on each side and finally there are also small windows that stretch through each side of the roof. Aiming to make things more interesting, Ron has made the front windows of the car, which are replacement for the windshield, adjustable in case you want them to open. Using a type two Volkswagen suspension setup up front, from a ’65 bus, and a real air-cooled flat-4 in the rear, and an 2175CC supercharged engine making about 200 horsepower, this cool looking van can run as good as it looks. And the last but not least are the wheels. I can’t say for certain, but I think that they are 21”, having added the touch of the wheelie bars which are skateboard deployable.
Everyone can say what they want about this van, but we have to admit that the skills that take to make something look this good and fit together as well are unique. When I see something built from scratch and the love that is put into it, it’s something that I truly respect. Ron Berry is the man who made his childhood fantasy come true, when will you?
Now this is awesome IMO. It’s always cheering to see someone go to such great lengths to build a car that makes everyone smile and laugh. I wouldn’t have gone for 21″ wheels, but the execution of the whole build looks top-notch.
Glad you like it Nick. It sure looks amazing.
