This is one of the craziest rendezvous in the summer of 2016! The American sky-diver Luke Aikins will jump from 7,620 meters of an airplane without a parachute, wingsuit without and without wings …
Luke Aikins (44) was successful in his incredible venture and became the first person in the world who jumped at 7 km height without a parachute.
Aikins left the plane, flying at an altitude of almost 8 kilometers in California. Without a parachute and without any security. He only had his camera and GPS. He landed two minutes later at the network within an area of one-third of a football field, stretched at the height of the twentieth floor. During the tests, one of the mannequins, falling at a speed of 200 km / h, tore the network.
“I was preparing for it the same way as for any other jump,” says Aikins for CBS.
He says that seven years ago this idea seemed a bit crazy to him when it was suggested by the producers of a Hollywood show.
“I told my wife: You will not believe what I have been proposed. They want me to jump without a parachute, and she said, Oh, you mean with the wingsuit?, and I answered: No, nothing. After this we had a good laugh” recalls Aikins.
It turned out that the producers instilled this idea in his head so after 7 years he decided to make the epic jump.
The 42-year-old American has done so far eighteen thousand jumps with parachute. Otherwise Aikins worked as a parachute instructor for other athletes and as a stuntman in films. The last film in which he worked was the famous Iron Man 3.
“The jump by Aikins is a highlight of his 26-year career as well as a personal and world record for the highest jump without using a parachute or a wingsuit,” said his spokesman Justin Aclin.
