Rare Beast For Sale: 1997 McLaren F1 GTR Longtail Briefly Sponsored By Top Gear

So, the title says everything, McLaren beast with Top Gear stickers on the body, it must be something special! And believe us, it is special, this is the last racing version of GTR Longtail built with chassis number 028R.

This outrageous beast from 1997 was racing aggressively in the FIA GT Championship under the GTC Motorsport team. Maybe judging by the years you will say, no way, he is way too old for new adventures but wait a moment to read the performance numbers. Yeah, pure racing DNA, BMW V12 beast with 6.0-liter displacement which screams 600BHP and 480lb-ft of torque. If we add the fact that the full weight of the car is only 2,017lbs the power to weight ratio is amazing 0.66BHP. So, this “granddaddy can scream” badly again.

Also the car was resting for years, after it got retired it was sold in Germany, in 2004 it was sold in Japan to a passionate owner who wanted to race with her but he never did that. Again he sold the car in 2009 to the current owner Pebble Beach Auctions.

Maybe soon this amazing beast will be transformed into a street legal car, but who knows, recently another F1 GTR Longtail was sold for $5.28 million and this is a high price. So, our message to the current owner is “Good Luck”.

Take a look at the pictures and if you are interested for buying it, prepare your money!
