The Shinkansen or a high speed train in Japan, is the rival of the Nissan GT-R in this interesting episode of Top Gear. This is to check which mode of transport is faster, whether Jeremy Clarkson on board the Nissan GT-R without respecting the speed limits, or Richard Hammond and James May in Shinkasen, making a much longer journey, which includes several links on the bullet train, subway of Tokyo and finally a ferry.

The tour begins in the city of Hakui, passing through Tokyo and finally ends in a huge Buddhist statue at Mount Nokogiri Yama.

It is a journey from coast to coast in Japan, and is a chance to meet some aspects from Japan that deserve comment.
