Some other guy would probably falleasily under the big pressure, especially if we take into account that the first shot from 2012 resulted withmany broken arms and feelings of frustration. However, this did not discourage Tom as he made anexhibition pass in 6.94 secondson the final day of Drag Week in 2012, even being out of competition. With this Tom held the record at Drag Week shortly, and then Larry Larson broke the record with his 1966 Chevy Nova.
Strongly encouraged by the incredible pass and ignited by the challenge from Larry Larson, and equipped with a big list of things that broke down, Tom and the engine building master Steve Morris got back to Michigan. Here they decided to make the Sick Seconds Camaro into amean drag car they just knew it shouldand is able to be. As a result of their efforts, the Camaro brought not only a victory at Drag Week in 2013 but the first weekly average of 6-second in the history of Drag Week too.
