The Dinámico Pegaso Centre hosts a big drag event in Mexico where you can see some of the world’s top speed cars, racing.

One of the races was between the two big rivals, Corvette and Mustang. In this race we can see a Corvette C6 ZR1 carrying a Pushrod V8 6.162 L -376.0 cu in supercharged engine, horsepower up to 638 bhp – 476 kW, 647 PS at 6500 rpm with 604 lbf·ft 819 N·m at 3800 rpm torque and 6 speed auto transmission, top speed up to 205 mph 330 km/h, zero to sixty in 3.3 seconds go up against a GT500 Shelby Mustang with 5.8 L 662 hp, DOHC 32 valve V8 supercharged engine, zero to sixty in 3.3 seconds, 540 horsepower – 403 kW, 547 PS, 510 lb/ft-691 N-m torque  and manual transmission of 6 speeds, as the Corvette .

When compared, these two cars have certain advantages over each other. At the starting line of the track the Mustang Shelby GT500 had a better start. The Mustang started off like a wild beast racing to destroy the track, and on the other had the Corvette launch itself fast and steady like a racket. Once they shifted into third gear the Corvette just passed the Mustang like it was nothing. I have to admit seeing that, it was really heartbreaking, since the Mustang is one of my favorite cars. And the Corvette was simply amazing, the way it conquered that track was astonishing. At the end the Corvette finished with 203.77 in 11.672 seconds, against the Mustang who had 206.10 in 12.027 seconds.

Even though it was a really close race, the Corvette C6 ZR1  was proven to be faster than the Mustang Shelby GT500.
