2001 Chevy Corvette C5 Z06

A successor to the ZR-1 Corvette, this Corvette was released in 2001 as a Z06 model, giving a nod to the high-performance C2 Corvette Z06 made in the 1960s. Thus the C5 Corvette Z06 came into existence, with a naming structure first introduced in 1963. Similar to the older Corvettes, the 2001 C5 Z06 was focused on track-racing, and Chevrolet did numerous key modifications to the Corvette to support its capabilities for high-performance driving. In total 28,388 Z06 samples were produced from 2001 to 2004, and each of these came with the newest and best bits and bobs. The car was powered by a wicked LS6 V8 engine which delivered 405 hp and could launch the 2001 C5 Corvette Z06 from 0 to 60 mph in less than four seconds.
