You could see this car in the movie Fast and Furious 4, and in many games of the series NFS, but to see such a car in person is something quite awesome. Immediately it is worth to say that the abbreviation SS, which can be found both on the Chevelle, and the Camaro, has nothing to do with German WWII soldiers, two of these letters which mean Super Sport say that in front of you is the most powerful modification of the Chevrolet Chevelle with 7.5l V8 engine. The 1970 Chevelle was a larger car than the Camaro, or than the Ford Mustang, so its competitors were: 1968 – 1970 Dodge Charger, 1968 Buick Skylark and Pontiac GTO.
The choice of engines in 1970 ranged from the standard 155 horsepower (116 kW) with six cylinders and the 200 hp 307-cu V-8 for a pair of 350 V-8 and a pair of 402 (396).
But one of the most powerful engines was SS 454 volume of 7.4 liters which had 450 hp and 680 Nm of torque, crossing the 1/4 mile in less than 13 seconds, at a speed at the finish of 169-174 km/h.
Here we have a wild 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS6 preparing to raise hell on Earth. I just love this old muscle car!
