Six-cylinder engines have been the power factories in some epic cars over the decades, such as the Toyota Supra, BMW M3, and E-Type Jaguar paving the way for the inline-six engine while cars like Honda NSX, Nissan GTR R35 and Lancia Stratos making a solid ground for the V6 engine into the automotive mentality. Unfortunately, the glory days of the I6 engine seem all but over, with the turbocharged V6 engines still serving as downsized alternatives to V8 engines in current performance cars.     Seems that the inline 6 is still the favourite in diesel production which points to the durability of the design.
