We have talked many times before about the 1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda but this is the one that has the sassy grass green color on it and the black hood as well. This is the build that was chosen to be the muscle car of the week and there it is, standing there proud ready to be checked out. Aside from the stock headlights it has the two fog small lights in the front bumper that are just adding up to the looks of it. And with the chromed bumper it is a full hit from the front.
But what about the engine of this sassy grass 1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda? They are one of the favorite muscle cars of the crowd because they are a road race version of the ‘Cuda rather than a drag race car only that is supposed to go only straight on the drag strip. This is the AAR version of the 1970 ‘Cudas that were built and they were supposed to go neck to neck with the Pontiac Trans Am on the race. Having the 340 engine six barrel carb this is the muscle car that was winning the races back in the time. All the other competitors like the Ford Mustang and some Chevys were carrying the 302 engines. This was because the race had a condition, all the engines should be under 5 liters in the v8 class. So there it goes, the 1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda with the most powerful engine that is fit for the race.
With 290 horsepower back in the day this was powerful. All the other engines were pushing at the 250 to 270 and there was a twenty HP jump on the Cuda. The work was justified when they started winning the races and saw great results coming from the six barrel carb they placed.
