2016 GMC Canyon Duramax Diesel Is THE UPSCALE COUSIN To The Chevy Colorado Duramax! HOW EFFICIENT Is The Midsize Turbo-Diesel Pickup Truck?

The 2016 GMC Canyon Duramax is richer cousin of the Chevy Colorado Duramax. While sharing a lot in common these two trucks are completely different. The newest GMC Canyon Duramax is wearing an expensive outfit like Prada and Versace while his cousin is more like a casual Gap guy! So, the difference is obvious, of course don’t take us for granted for these clothing brands, we have nothing against them.

The first impression from the test driver of the 2016 GMC Canyon Duramax was that it doesn’t feel like a diesel which is a good point, those who don’t want loud diesel sound would love the truck. The second one was that it doesn’t feel like a heavy duty truck! Come on, you will spent a little fortune to feel that heavy duty power and in return you’ll get a city truck, it’s not fair.

Maybe this is the impression from this driver, if you have your own you can share it with us in the comments below. Under the hood is packed a 2.8-liter Duramax four cylinder turbo diesel engine with 181HP and 369lb-ft of torque. Maybe you are not shocked from the numbers but the torque power is amazing and you get that outcome at 2,000rpm, which is amazing. The engine is backed up by 6-speed hydromatic transmission which transfers the power on the rear wheels on the basic model or on the all four wheels like on our model in the video.

The manufacturer of this GMC Canyon Duramax still haven’t released the official fuel consumption numbers but the guy on the video averaged from Manhattan to Beacon Falls 28 miles per gallon with some traffic but mostly he was driving on nice country roads. In our opinion is not too bad.
