The drag racing world is all about speed stability and time. The faster and more stable the car the better time you will get in the end of the race. But what will happen if your drag racing pro mod car hits the wall at top speed? Probably you will destroy it and loose a bag or two of money that you had spent on modifying the car and making it lighter and faster.
Pro-Mod means Professionally Modified and it is an advanced level of modifying the car going to the limits of the drag racing rules. In the drag racing world exist specific rules about the engine and bodies and other parts of the car and it depends whether you are racing your car on ¼ mile or 1/8 mile and you can be fast as 5 seconds or slow as 6 seconds at the finish line. The Pro Mod has been around only 15 years in the drag racing while the other three classes (ProExtreme, ProNitrous and Extreme 10.5) are around much longer and they are as fast as the pro mod and even more.
This’63 Corvette pro mod starts very fast and it is on the edge to win but the driver loses control of the car and hits the wall at 150 miles per hour. From the impact the car is destroyed and there are parts flying everywhere. Watch the video to see exactly what happened at Tulsa Raceway Park.
