How many times did it happened to witness a tire explosion on the highway, usually on the semi-trucks? Or you were driving and suddenly you saw a big black piece on the highway and you tried to slow down? It happens often because the process of tire retreading is quite inexpensive compared to buying a new tire.
Tire explosion is a serious thing, just imagine driving your car at high speed and your tire explodes (to many of you this already happened) and it’s a damn difficult to keep the control of the vehicle without crashing on the highway side walls! Now, imagine driving a heavyweight monster, a semi-truck and that happens at 60mph speed! What are you supposed to then, how to keep the control?
The main guilt for this unwanted goes to the retreading process where on bald tire is are literally glued new treads. Of course just gluing won’t work, so after the process of retreading the tires are sent into ovens where the tread and the old tire will collide. This is not nearly the same as the fabrication process of a new tire. Maybe the treads will hold there and do their traction job but the side walls of that tire are old. The sun also take a huge part of the aging process of the tire, the weight that it transports and when you’ll sum all that up it’s like you are driving on tempted bombs!
If you don’t want to face this phenomenon of tire explosion avoid retreading services, not that they won’t finish the job, but because of the fact that the tire is old and cannot handle another 60,000 miles journey. Watch the video and see the retreading process and after decide on your own what kind of tires you will put on your semi-truck.
