It’s known to get very snowy over in the state of Missouri and rather than using the traditional snow plowing the folks there have found out of other methods to deal with the massive snow fall. Unfortunately, on February 21, back in 2013, a winter storm hit Missouri. The blinding snow, which at times was accompanied by lightning and thunder, has bombarded much of the nation’s midsection, causing whiteout conditions, making the major roadways completely impassable. The MoDOT crews were out in full force with their Tow Plow trailer trucks battling to clear the snow off the roadways.

The Tow Plow trailer is for sale at about half the price of a standard plow truck worth $93,000, has a 26-foot rubber blade with ceramic inserts that can be raised and lowered from controls inside the cab of the plow trucks. The trailer of the Tow Plow is 34 feet long, which gives the Tow Plow truck and the trailer a total length of 62 feet.

The snow removal machine has an additional salt tank that can storage up to 7 tons of salt, and that comes as an addition to the 11-ton tank on the standard Tow Plow truck, allowing the driver to stay out on the road for a longer period of time before needing to return and refill the tank.

In the following two videos in this article we take a closer look at this interesting plow truck called Tow Plow that is equipped with an interesting built in attachment that allows the Tow Plow trailer truck to plow through two lanes of traffic. We got to admit that is quite efficiency there! It’s truly amazing to see this snow removal machine in action during the winter storm in Missouri in 2013. We can only imagine how much effort, money, time, as well as lives this snow removal machine has saved in that situation. The people in Missouri are surely grateful for all that.
