In February this year, in Brazil was found a giant anaconda and the incredible footage depicting this huge snake appeared on the Internet and quickly became viral. This huge snake which is longer than ten meters was found on a building site in the north of Brazil. The huge reptile is heavy 400 kg and was found after an explosion in a cave in the city of Pará. In the widest part of the body this snake has a volume of up to one meter. The construction workers that found it had to lift this giant anaconda using a crane.

For decades there has been a debate on which is the longest snake in the world. According to official data, the longest anaconda is of 8.66 meters, but many claimed that they have met with snakes that are twice longer than that.

The video began circulating on the Internet with this giant anaconda that was killed at the construction site of the Belo Monte dam in the Amazon.

Judging by the information from the media, workers performed a controlled explosion in the cave in the municipality of Altamira and then in the rubble found the carcass of a huge snake 10.6 meters long and weighing over 400 kg. On the video below you can see this giant anaconda with its head crushed, which probably fell off a cliff in the blast.

It is not completely clear whether the magnificent reptile died due to the explosion or was killed by the workers at the construction site, because in one part of the video the workers put the anaconda in chains and lifted it with a crane on the construction site.

The largest anaconda previously found was five meters long and about 100kg heavy. Stories of huge, more than 10 meters long anacondas, have been circling through South America probably since the Europeans arrived there, but none of them was confirmed by photographs or data, and mainly come from untrusted sources.
