One will try with the fast shifting, that is when the race starts he will switch from first to second gear right in the beginning of the race. This way he will get more speed but a little bit slower. That is because the other driver will do the MAX RPM shift. This is done at the start of the race in first gear and not changing the first gear until the engine is at max RPM and the needle is dancing at the MAX pointer. This way the driver is sure that he has great lift off and he will have advantage in the beginning, and then fast shifting must be applied to keep the speed without losing control of the vehicle as some burnout might come from all the torque.
