Like a decade ago these chains were so cool that if a kid wasn’t wearing one of these then it didn’t belong to the cool kids. That is how important these soda can chains were to the society and even though it is not hard to make them, it was very hard to collect all the from the soda can tabs. It was hard because the soda was expensive and you couldn’t buy more than one or two in a day. So the long waited chain was so desired and when it was finally finished it was worn with glory on the jeans.

Make sure that you collect well more than one or two hundred of the tabs because at every link there will be four or five tabs. The chain that will come out of this little engineering project will be lightweight and strong too, because it is aluminum. The guy on the video Grant Thompson – “The King of Random says that he picked up his tabs from the local recycling station for free. Well in the other countries these don’t come for free because after all they are metal and they will be sold.

Take five of the tabs and align them together. That will be the first link in the soda can chains that we are about to make here. Then take five more tabs and cut through them with scissors so that the tab could be placed to hold the five other tabs that we have from before. After you have that will be the second link and now you get the idea. It is not hard to make the chains and they can be used for different things. Your own custom keychain, or a bracelet that looks like it is made out heavy silver, but actually it is made out of soda can tabs.
