The video right here is all about magnetic balls, or the buckyballs and then some pure science involved too. It is not that the magnetic balls are magnets to start, they will become when the battery is attached to them. There is a lot of polarity play involved here and the man who built this motor has really enjoyed the science classes back in high school. Ever heard about the term Buckminsterfullerene? This term dates back from high school too and most of the students are avowing to learn this field. That’s why it will be a great reminder for them, to restudy and recap all that science material that they had to learn to get a good grade.
Or is it that mortals like us have never heard about it? Well it was about time for us to learn something new and this is a great subject to start. There is a nickname for the Buckminsterfullerene term and that is the buckyball. Buckyball will transform into the magnetic balls that we are about to make and this will be one hell of an experiment. The Buckminsterfullerene was an element that was discovered by five scientists back in 1985 at the Rice University. After eleven years from the discovery three of them got the Nobel Prize in Chemistry, so it has to mean something.
Clean and pure science is about to happen today as all we need are a couple of hundred of buckyballs, some copper wire, a magnet or the buckyballs will do the trick as we said before and the last thing is an AA battery. Making this motor will be such great hobbyist project or a Sunday evening project to keep the kids amused. The motor is fully working until the battery is drained. Replacing it will give it more time to run.
