At the end of 1942 began the shipping of M4 by the Lend-Lease to the UK, which had reached a stable level – both in respect of supplies to British forces in the Middle East and in England – persisted until the end of the war. The bulk of the machine was delivered to the UK, were M4A4 (more than 1600 machines accounted for the 8th Army in Italy in 1943). There were not many M4A3s, because they are the basic model, designed for the US Army.
